Privacy policy
RetroHub is sold by (, ), which is responsible for the personal data described here. To ask anything about your data, write to .
The short version
- Your games never reach us. On a phone, a tablet or a computer, the files you add stay on your device and run in your browser.
- RetroHub Online needs an account: your email address and a password. We keep the password only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the password.
- There is one cookie, and it only keeps you signed in. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, here or on this site.
- We use your data only to give you access, deliver your purchase, answer you and meet legal obligations. We do not sell it.
1. RetroHub Online
RetroHub Online is the version you open in a browser after signing in. To run it we keep:
- Your account: your email address, the name the payment platform sent us, your password in a scrambled (hashed) form, the version of the terms you accepted and when, and the date of your last sign-in.
- Your purchase: the order identifier, the product, the amount, the dates, and whether it was approved, refunded or disputed.
- A record of the emails we sent you: which message and when, so we can tell whether your access link was delivered. The text of the message is not stored.
- A record of changes to your account: for instance a password change, or a correction made by our support at your request.
Cookie. When you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days on that browser. It is strictly necessary for the service, it cannot be read by scripts, and it is not used for anything else. Signing out removes it.
Your games and your progress stay on your device. The game files you add are copied into your own browser's storage, together with your in-game saves and the system you chose for each file. None of it is sent to our servers and we have no access to it. Each device keeps its own library. To erase it, remove the games inside RetroHub or clear the site data of the RetroHub address in your browser.
Technical records. Like any web server, ours records the IP address, date, address requested and browser of each request. We use these records for security, for instance to limit password guessing, and to diagnose problems, and we keep them for up to 90 days.
Emails. We only send messages about your account and your purchase: your access link, a password reset you asked for, a purchase or refund confirmation and security notices. We send no marketing email.
Where it is kept. On servers of our hosting provider located in the United States.
2. The RetroHub program for Windows
The Windows program has no account and sends nothing about you or your games to us. It keeps its data on your computer: the list of games in your library (names, systems, file locations, covers), your favorites, play time and the settings of the emulators you configured. The browser keeps your in-game saves, save states and the folders you allowed RetroHub to read.
Your game files are read where they are. They are never uploaded, copied, moved or changed.
The program connects to the internet once, during setup, to download the browser player and the emulators from a public package registry. That registry receives the technical data of any download, such as your IP address. After setup it works offline, and the page that runs the games is technically blocked from contacting any other address.
To erase everything the program stored, delete its data folder (on Windows,
%APPDATA%\RetroHub) and clear the site data of the RetroHub address in your
browser.
3. This site and your purchase
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts and loads its fonts and images from its own address.
Payment is handled by the payment platform shown at checkout, under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number. From the platform we receive your name, email address, the product, the amount, the order identifier and later changes to the order, such as a refund. We do not keep your postal address, phone number or document number.
We use that data to create your account and deliver RetroHub to you, to recognize you when you ask for support or a refund, and to keep the sales records the law requires.
How long we keep it. Your account is kept while you have access to RetroHub. If you ask us to delete it, we delete the account and keep only the sales records that tax and consumer law oblige us to keep, for as long as they do.
4. When you write to support
We keep your message, your email address and our answers so we can follow your case, and for as long as needed to show how it was handled.
5. Who we share data with
Only with the companies that work for us to make the sale, the service and the support possible: the payment platform, the email provider and the hosting provider. They may process the data in other countries, including the United States. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to confirm whether we hold data about you, to send you a copy, to correct it or to delete it, including your account, and you can object to how it is used. Write to from the email address you used to buy. We answer within 15 days. Data we are legally obliged to keep, such as sales records, is kept only for that purpose until the obligation ends.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country.
7. Children
RetroHub is sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child bought RetroHub, write to us and we will cancel the purchase and delete the data.
8. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, this page shows the new version number and date. Write to us for a copy of an earlier version.
