Terms of use

Version 1.1 · In force since

These terms are the agreement between you and (, ), the company that sells RetroHub. Buying, creating your account, installing or using RetroHub means you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use RetroHub, and ask for a refund as described below.

1. What you are buying

One purchase gives you RetroHub in two forms. RetroHub Online is a service you open in the browser of a phone, a tablet or a computer after signing in to your account. RetroHub for Windows is a program that runs on your own computer. Both organize the game files you already have into a library and let you play them.

You pay once, at the price shown at checkout. In return you receive a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use RetroHub Online with your account and to install RetroHub for Windows on computers you own or control, for your own use. The license covers the version you bought and the updates we publish for it.

RetroHub Online depends on servers we operate, and you can use it for as long as we offer it. If we ever stop offering it, we will tell you by email at least 90 days in advance. RetroHub for Windows does not depend on our servers and keeps working.

2. Games are not included

RetroHub does not contain, host, download or link to any game, console firmware or system file. It only uses files you already have. On RetroHub Online the files you add are kept in your own browser, on your device: they are not sent to our servers. On Windows the files are read where they are and never copied, moved or changed.

You are responsible for the files you use with RetroHub. Use only games and system files you have the legal right to use where you live.

3. Free software used by RetroHub

To run games in the browser, RetroHub uses a player and emulators written and published by third parties as free software. They are not what we charge for. On Windows they are downloaded during setup from a public package registry to your computer; on RetroHub Online they are delivered to your browser when you start a game. Each one stays under its own license, listed on the open-source licenses page.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licenses give you over those components. Where these terms and one of those licenses differ, that license decides for its component.

4. What you may not do

  • Resell, rent, sublicense or share your copy of RetroHub or your access to it.
  • Share your account or let other people sign in with it.
  • Use RetroHub to distribute games or other files you have no right to distribute.
  • Remove or change the copyright and license notices that come with RetroHub.
  • Offer RetroHub to other people as a hosted service.

5. Your account

Your account is created with the email address you used to buy, and you choose its password through the link we send to that address. Keep the password to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.

We may suspend an account that is shared, used to break these terms or used to harm the service or other people. Access with an account ends when its purchase is refunded or charged back.

6. Refunds

You can ask for a full refund within days of your purchase, with no need to explain why. Ask through the platform where you paid or by writing to . The refund goes back to the payment method you used, and your license and your access to RetroHub Online end when it is issued.

7. Support and updates

Support is given by email at . We answer . Tell us your operating system, your browser and what you were doing when the problem happened.

We may publish updates that fix problems or add features. Emulation depends on your device, your browser and each game file, so we cannot promise that every game runs, or that it runs at full speed. Which systems are available can differ between RetroHub Online and RetroHub for Windows, and PlayStation 2 games run only on Windows.

8. Names and trademarks

Console names, game titles and box art belong to their owners. They appear in RetroHub and on this site only to describe what your library can hold. RetroHub is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Atari or any other console maker or game publisher.

9. Warranty and liability

RetroHub is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty beyond what these terms say, and we are not liable for indirect losses, for lost save data, for games removed from your browser's storage by the browser or the device, or for how you obtain or use game files. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for RetroHub.

None of this removes rights that consumer law in your country gives you and that cannot be waived.

10. Your data

RetroHub Online needs an account, and keeps your games and your progress on your own device. RetroHub for Windows has no account and sends nothing about you or your games to us. The privacy policy describes what we keep, what stays on your device and what we receive when you buy.

11. Changes to these terms

When these terms change, this page shows the new version number and date. The version in force on the day you bought stays valid for that purchase. Write to us for a copy of an earlier version.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of the country where is registered, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
